Decorative Drapery Hardware 101

Wood Pole Decorative Poles
Drapery poles are usually mounted 3"-4" above the window sill. If a layered look is desired for your window, choose a double bracket that can mount one right in front of the other. You can also use a standard curtain rod with a small projection underneath a decorative rod to achieve this look.		 Traverse Rods
Traverse rods are operated by a cord and pully system or by wand pull and coordinate with pinch pleated draperies. The standard draw for a traverse rod is a center draw which can also be concerted to a one-way draw (left or right).
Finial Finials
Decorative drapery hardware completes the window and the room. Finials can be considered window jewelry. They give windows a wide range of looks while coordinating with other elements of the room being decorated. Metal is a more contemporary medium, while wood provides warmth and traditional styles. You might even consider glass finials to compliment sheer fabrics.		 Rings Rings
Rings are an easy way to attach curtains to the pole. They help panels slide along the rod easily while bringing decorative elements to the window. Most rings have removable clips so you can use the eyelet to pin draperies.
